Two scholarships of $500 each may be awarded to two high school seniors

Any GCUSBC certified youth in good standing, who will graduate high school this year and has an overall G.P.A of 2.5 or higher, is eligible to apply for this scholarship.

You must have a current USBC youth card to apply.  This scholarship money will be deposited into the bowler’s SMART account through the USBC on bowl.com

Sandy Cummins Memorial Youth Scholarship

Cincinnati Tri-State Invitational Tournament (CINTIT) is proud to sponsor the Sandy Cummins Memorial Youth Scholarship.  CINTIT is a local LGBTQ+ non-profit organization.  CINTIT hosts a yearly event mainly at SuperBowl Bellewood where we interacted with Sandy for over the past decade.  In her honor, we are offering this scholarship to a youth/collegiate bowler that embodies the commitment that Sandy shown to youth bowling.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Age & Education:
  • Must be a high school student or currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school.
  • Must be between the ages of 15 and 22.
  1. Bowling Involvement:
  • Must be an active youth or collegiate bowler for at least two consecutive years.
  • Participation in a recognized league, tournament, or school-affiliated bowling program is required.
  1. Leadership & Sportsmanship:
  • Demonstrated history of leadership, mentorship, or volunteer work within their bowling community.
  • Must exemplify good sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
  1. Academic Performance:
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  1. Community Involvement:
  • Proven commitment to community service (bowling-related or general), reflecting values of giving back.
  1. Recommendation Letters:
  • One (1) letter of recommendation from a coach, league official, or tournament director.
  • Optional: Additional letter from a teacher or community leader.
  1. Essay Requirement:
  • 500–750 words on the topic:

“How has the sport of bowling shaped your life, and how will you continue to shape other young bowlers as a youth ambassador?”

Award Amount:

  • Scholarship award of $500 (adjustable based on funding) deposited to USBC Smart account.
  • Applicants may apply for this scholarship each year if they meet the Age & Education requirements.

Deadline:

  • Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2026.

Selection Process:

  • A committee made up of CINTIT committee members and family/friends of Sandy Cummins will review all applications.
  • Finalists may be contacted for a brief interview (virtual or in-person).

Entries need to be postmarked by March 31, 2026
